This book has launched for me a more comprehensive study through Scripture on the topic of prayer and hearing from God.
Willard does a great job of emphasizing that a conversational relationship with God is an essential and necessary part of the normal Christian life/5(95). The book is peppered with stories of people who have “encountered” God, or “heard” God’s voice, and Willard uses these stories as data from which to build a theology of “hearing God.” I am not sure that is a wise or sound way of going about the task of theology.
